Obituary of Robert Donahey

Robert E. Donahey Allegany, NY Robert E. Donahey of 375 Rte 16 South died Thursday (December 2, 2010) at the Olean General Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at home. Born February 21, 1941 in Olean, NY he was the son of Charles and Bertha Royer Donahey. On August 18, 1967 at the former Sacred Heart Church in Knapp Creek he married Klareen "Cindy" Scott who survives. Mr. Donahey was a 1959 graduate of Allegany High School and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1963 until 1965. He was first employed by Pennzoil Co. in Bradford, PA and later for Dresser Clark Co. for several years. He began employment with Cooper Power Co. in Olean in 1984, working until 1998 when he retired due to disability. He enjoyed automobile racing and he loved working on cars, especially his 1966 Oldsmobile 442. Surviving besides his wife are 2 sons Patrick (Carole) Donahey of Jacksonville, AL and Michael (Carolyn) Donahey of Olean; 1 daughter Jodi Donahey of Coudersport, PA; 1 grandson Robert Ty Donahey; 2 sisters Barbara Pfeiffer and Andrea (Robert) Jones, both of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. At Mr. Donahey's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Knapp Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
