Allegany-- William Morris of 52 N. 4th Street, passed away Monday (December 21, 2009) at the Olean General Hospital. Born March 8, 1924 in Olyphant, PA, he was the son of James and Cecilia Zuba Morris. On August 28, 1946 at Holy Ghost Church in Olyphant, PA, he married Jane Lagvanec, who predeceased him on May 29, 2008. Mr. Morris attended the former St. Thomas Aquinas College, now Scranton University. He later enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1943-1946 as a First Class Petty Officer. Mr. Morris was employed for PennDot before moving to Olean in 1950. He then worked and retired from the former Hi-Q, now AVX as a general manager in Olean. Mr. Morris was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and a life time member of the Pulaski Club. He enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife. Surviving are 2 daughters Patricia (John) Shepard of Winchester, VA and Mary Jo Snyder of Olean; 4 grandchildren Jeffrey Livingston, Bryon Shepard, Gregg Snyder and Brett Snyder; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by a brother John Morris and a sister Alice Gilroy. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig &amp; Hartle Funeral home Today (Tuesday December 22, 2009) from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (December 23, 2009) beginning with a prayer service at 11:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Church or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse NY, 13220. <h3>Visitation</h3> Tuesday December 22, 2009 5-8pm <h3>Services</h3> Wednesday December 23, 2009 12:00pm <h3>Interment</h3> St. Bonaventure Cemetery
