Ann S. Fausold
Allegany, NY-Ann S. Fausold of 33 N. 2nd St. passed away Sunday (December 20, 2009) in the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born July 1, 1919 in Johnstown, PA she was the daughter of Dr. Orlando and Mary Jane Gohn Shank. On January 11, 1946 in Windber, PA she married George M. Fausold who predeceased her January 1994.
Mrs. Fausold was a graduate of Indiana University in Pennsylvania where she received a bachelor's degree and later became certified in elementary education. In addition to raising a family, her career was as an elementary school teacher for the Hempfield, PA school system in Westmoreland County.
She was a former founding member of St. Mathias Lutheran Church in Greensburg,, PA and volunteered for Meals on Wheels there as well. She was currently a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Olean and enjoyed her aerobics classes at the Olean YMCA.
Surviving are 4 children Dr. Margaret Mazon of Allegany, with whom she resided, Janie (Paul) Denchy of Shepherdstown, W. VA, Alice F. (Michael) Parrish of Cape Coral, FL and George M. (Susie) Fausold of Pittsburgh, PA; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and 2 dear friends Dr. Guy Imhoff of Allegany and Dick Parrish of Cape Coral, FL.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a grandson Peter George Denchy on July 29, 1994; 1 Sister Mary Jane Gaye and 1 brother Orlando J. Shank.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday (June 19, 2010) at 10:00am in the St. Bonaventure University Chapel. Fr. Michael Calabria and Rev. Daniel McKee will co-officiate.
