Marilyn A. Edel "Beloved sister and aunt"
Allegany-- Marilyn A. Edel, of 3575 Buffalo Road died peacefully Wednesday (December 2, 2009) in her home in the presence of those who loved her.
Born July 8, 1926, in Olean, she was the daughter of Albert and Hazel Brunnell Edel. Miss Edel was employed for 34 years at Sub Con Industries in Olean, where she loved to be every day, until she retired.
Marilyn enjoyed her many friends at her home, watching car racing, the Buffalo Bills and playing bingo. She was known for her kindness and will be greatly missed by of whom she lived with, and her nieces.
Surviving are two brothers Loren (Gerry) Edel of Buffalo, Albert (Judy) Edel of Hamburg; locally nieces Lynne ( Joe) Brauser of Bradford, Patti (Louis) Petroni of Cuba, Linda (Peter) Cavana of Olean, Sharon (Charles) Bean of Olean; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews, as well as great great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Madelyn Turner, Marcella Bazow; and a brother Francis Edel.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Friday from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday (December 5, 2009) at 11am. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial will be private in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials if desired may be made to HomeCare & Hospice 1225 W. State Street, Olean, or to the Rehabilitation Center 1439 Buffalo Street, Olean.
