Obituary of Irene McKinney

Irene E. (Geise) McKinney "Loving mother and grandmother" Olean, NY-Irene E. McKinney formerly of 301 W. Henley Street, most recently a resident of the Pines Health and Rehab Center, passed away Thursday (July 16, 2009), at the Pines in Olean. Born July 31, 1921 in Allegany, NY she was the daughter of Jacob and Rose Bockmeir Geise. On March 13, 1944 in Allegany she married Earl L. "Frankie" McKinney Jr. who predeceased her December 16, 1992. Mrs. McKinney was a graduate of Allegany High School and was a 1939 graduate of Jamestown Business College. She was a housewife, who loving raised her children. She was also a lifelong member of St. Bonaventure Church and active with the Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are 5 children Rose Ann Morris of Arlington, VA, Elden (Sally) McKinney of Bradford, PA, Raymond (Vicky) McKinney of Allegany, Deborah McKinney of Mayville, NY and Maureen (Dana) Auman of Amherst; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters Margaret Geise, Marie Riehle, Florence Stritof, Helen Putt, Clarence Geise, Leo Geise, Sr. Philothea Geise and Sr. Rosaurea Geise. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bonaventure Church on Monday (July 20, 2009) at 10am. Cremation will follow with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery at a later date.
