Richard L. "Bud" Bronold, Sr.
Great Valley-Richard L. "Bud" Bronold, Sr. of 4767 Fay Hollow Road, passed away Thursday (July 9, 2009) at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 26, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Slentz Bronold. He married Bonnie Baldwin his wife of 30 years, who survives.
Mr. Bronold was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1952-1954. He was employed for 31 years at Eastman Kodak in Rochester as an Aerial Technical Specialist. He was a volunteer EMT and Firemen for Monroe County. Later when Mr. Bronold moved to this area, he served as a Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer, Dog Control Officer and the Fire Commissioner for the Town of Humphrey.
He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dogs.
Surviving besides his wife are his 4 children Dot (Rick) Passer of Holley, NY, Roy Bronold of El Cahon, CA, Rickie (Terri) Bronold of Lakeside, CA, Susan Bronold of El Cahon, CA; 2 step-daughters Joy (Garnet) Jones of Chesapeake, VA, Melissa (Dale) Kelley of Virginia Beach, VA; 2 sisters Joan Hund of Olean, Nancy Greenlee of TN; numerous grandchildren, many great- grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a very special niece and nephew Wendy Pyanowski of Hamburg and Kim Hund of Olean; many close and dear friends, especially his 2 hunting buddies Steve and Charlie.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Fire Department or local animal shelter.
Arrangements are under the direction of Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
