Obituary of Heather Simms

Heather J. Simms Allegany, NY-Heather J. Simms, 29, of 1892 Four Mile Rd. died Monday (June 29, 2009) in her home. Born November 17, 1979 in Cuba, NY she was the daughter of Edward McRae and Virginia Hart. She was married to William Simms who survives. Mrs. Simms was a graduate of Allegany Central School and had formerly worked for the ReHabilitation Center in Allegany for over six years. She was currently employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant for Absolut Care in Salamanca. She was a die hard fan of the Olean Area Softball Leagues and enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities. She was an outgoing person who was great with children, especially her nieces and nephews. Surviving besides her husband are her father of Middleburg, FL, her mother and stepfather Virginia and Jerry Kellogg of Allegany, her maternal step grandparents Ronald and Marian Kellogg of Bradford, PA; her paternal step grandmother Susan McRae of Olean; 3 stepchildren Justin Darrow of Allegany and Tiffany A. Simms and Jessica (Tony) Scalise, both of Olean; 1 sister Amy Lynn (Joe Miller) Steadman of New Braunfels, TX; 2 brothers Joseph R. (Cynthia) Provorce of Allegany and Richard R. (Amy L.) Steadman of Allegany and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (July 3, 2009) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
