Obituary of Marguerite C. O'Neil

Marguerite C. “Peg” O’Neil “Loving sister and aunt” Olean, NY—Marguerite C. “Peg” O’Neil of 201 N. 15th St. died Saturday (January 26, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital after a sudden illness. Born November 1, 1918 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Michael J. and Alice !McManus O’Neil. Miss O’Neil was a graduate of Olean High School and was a 1940 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo where she received her Registered Nursing degree. She had been an RN for the Olean Medical Group prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the St. Vincent !DePaul Society. She was also a member of the former Bonatom Club and the former St. Francis Hospital Guild. She was a dedicated caregiver and was also very proud of her Irish heritage. Surviving are 2 sisters Ann A. O’Neil of Olean and Josephine Curran of Rochester; several nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews; five great great nieces and a brother-in-law Robert Kreydt of Olean. She was predeceased by 4 sisters Mary Kreydt, Catherine O’Neil, Helen Donivan and Theresa Kausner and 2 nephews Michael Donivan and Michael Curran. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (January 30, 2008) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, and Rev. Thomas Walsh will be the concelebrants. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church.
