Dorothy J. Yehl
Allegany, NY—Dorothy J. Yehl of 3110 Five Mile Rd. died Monday (February 25, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital shortly after arrival.
Born June 11, 1932 in Limestone she was the daughter of Ralph E. and K. Leona Ort Wilson, Sr. On May 8, 1954 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany she married Thomas R. Yehl who survives.
Mrs. Yehl was a 1950 graduate of Allegany High School and had worked for Reid’s Food Barn. She later worked for Olean Creative Mailing and Printing in Olean prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Allegany American Legion Auxiliary and the Allegany Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving besides her husband are 5 children James (Shirley) Yehl of Virginia, Philip Yehl of Allegany, Charles (Debra) Yehl of Allegany, Gregory (Karen) Yehl of Indiana and Nancy Yehl of Allegany; 2 grandsons Andrew Yehl and Nicholas Yehl; 6 step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren; 3 sisters Bessie Bartlow of California, Sarah Hovey of Corning and Frances Rogalski of California; 2 sisters-in-law Carolyn Wilson of Pennsylvania and Jeanne Wilson of Allegany and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 3 brothers Robert L. Wilson, Ralph E. Wilson, Jr. and George Wilson who died in infancy.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (February 29, 2008) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Gerald Piper, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Olean, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department.
