Obituary of Verna L. Henneman

Verna L. Henneman “loving mother and grandmother” Salamanca, NY—Verna L. Henneman, of 120 Wilson St., a former resident of the South Nine Mile Rd. in Allegany died Tuesday (May 6, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born May 28, 1923 in Coldspring, NY she was the daughter of Jason and Vella Stevens Edwards. On July 7, 1941 in Olean, NY she married William F. Henneman who predeceased her April 16, 1990. Mrs. Henneman resided in Allegany most of her life and had been employed by the former Acme Electric Co. in Allegany. She later worked as a cafeteria worker for Allegany High School. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Surviving are 1 daughter Donna Jusko of Salamanca with whom she resided the past four years; 1 daughter-in-law Darlene Henneman of Allegany; 4 grandchildren Jennifer Jusko, Peggy Jusko and Diane Jusko, all of Salamanca and Joseph Henneman of Allegany; 2 sisters including her twin sister Vera L. Carr of Hinsdale and Marie (Brownie) Lewandowski of Black Creek; 1 brother George (Liz) Edwards of Cuba and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son William P. “Willie” Henneman on February 23, 2008; 4 brothers Gerald Edwards, Walter Edwards, Jason “Jake” Edwards and Billy Edwards and 2 sisters Dorothy “Dot” Edwards and Phyllis Wight. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday (May 9, 2008) at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
