Jessie I. Reese Emons
Allegany—Jessie I. Reese Emons, of 3974 Rte 417 lot 127, passed away Saturday (June 14, 2008) at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness.
Born August 2, 1925 in Friendship, she was the daughter of Myron A. and Gertrude Irish Burrows. On June 6, 1946 she married James Donald Reese, who predeceased her October 5, 1964. Later, on June 21, 1969, she married Arthur J. Emons, who survives.
Mrs. Emons attended Friendship Central School. She had worked at the former Thatcher Glass Company in Olean and for the American Olean Tile Plant. She was a member of the 60 Plus Club in Allegany and attended the Bethel Assembly in God Church in Olean. She enjoyed arts, crafts and crocheting.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Lynn (Edwin) Kohl of Kansas City, MO, Jeannette (Roger) Voisine of Staffordsville, KY, Mary (Thomas) Carls of Cuba; a step-daughter Julie (Larry) Stanley of Opelika AL.; 4 brothers Philip Burrows, Harold Burrows, Duane Burrows, Victor Burrows; 4 grandchildren; 6 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 1 sister Jean Burrows and 3 brothers Myron Burrows Jr., Ralph Burrows and Arvis Burrows.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday (June 17, 2008) at 11am. Rev. Robert Goode, Chaplin of the Olean General Hospital, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery
