Dean A. “Dino” Lampe, Jr.
Olean, NY—Dean A. “Dino” Lampe, Jr. of 619 Homer St. died Wednesday (September 24, 2008) shortly after admission to Olean General Hospital.
Born August 30, 1945 in Olean, NY he was the son of Dean A. and Violet Tinglund Lampe, Sr. In 1966 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Olean he married Elaine Smith who survives.
Mr. Lampe was a lifelong resident of Olean and began his career with the Olean Times Herald during high school. He retired due to ill health in 1992 after 33 years of service. Years ago he had also worked for the former Bowlean and for Hires Bottling Co.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Olean Moose Lodge and the St. Stephen’s Club. He enjoyed watching Buffalo Bills football and he was a railroad and model train buff.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother of Olean; 1 daughter Audrey Lampe of Olean; 1 son Arthur D. Lampe of Olean; 1 grandson Duane Lampe; 1 brother Neil (Sandy) Lampe of Olean and several nieces, nephews and 1 aunt.
He was predeceased by his father and an infant daughter.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 3-6pm and on Monday (September 29, 2008) from 10:00 until 11:00am. Services will take place at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Marie Meeks, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
