Obituary of Bruce O. Wilber

Bruce O. Wilber “Loving Dad and “Little Papa” Allegany, NY-- Bruce O. Wilber of 4022 Church Rd. died Sunday (November 2, 2008) in The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean. Born June 25, 1927 in Allegany, NY he was the son of Oscar and Ethel Horton Wilber. On January 17, 1959 in Olean, NY he married Carol Truby who predeceased him July 31, 1998. Mr. Wilber operated a dairy farm in partnership with his brother Orville Wilber in Allegany. He was a member of the Cattaraugus County Farm Bureau and attended the Five Mile Baptist Church in Allegany. He loved going to auctions, attending horse pulls, collecting hats and conversing with his friends. Surviving are a daughter Linda (Ronald) Berg of Allegany; 2 grandchildren Ronald (Tina) Berg of Allegany and Renee Berg of Arcade; 2 great grandchildren Aaron Berg and Alexis Berg, both of Allegany; 1 sister Jeanne Wilson of Allegany; 1 brother Loren (Janet) Wilber of Weston’s Mills, several nieces and nephews, and close friends Mario and Kathy Zakel of Allegany. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 2 brothers Orville Wilber and Duane Wilber and 3 sisters Vesta Cooney, Freda Vreeland and Evelyn Pistner. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (November 5, 2008) at 11:00am in the Five Mile Baptist Church in Allegany. Rev. James Mitchell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Five Mile Baptist Church, Friends of The Pines 2245 W. State St. Olean, NY or to the Allegany Fire Department.
