Obituary of Louis J. Kolasinski

Louis J. Kolasinski Olean, NY—Louis J. Kolasinski of 325 N. 9th St. died unexpectedly Tuesday (January 9, 2007) in his home. Born November 18, 1927 in Olean, NY he was the son of Stanley and Julia Gawronski Kolasinski. Mr. Kolasinski was a lifelong resident of Olean and was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was first employed for Bush Bros. in Olean and later for Daystrom Furniture Co. He then worked for many years for Local Union #621 Construction and General Laborers. He retired in 1992 after working for the Olean Housing Authority. He was a member of Transfiguration Church and the Local Union #621. He enjoyed working around his home and took pride in the appearance of his home and his car. Surviving are 5 children Deborah Warner, Karen Kolasinski, Joseph Kolasinski and Becky Kolasinski, all of Olean and Christine (Robert) Jones of Virginia Beach, VA; 6 grandchildren Matthew, Kyle, Meghan, Zachary, Nicholas and Sarah; 4 great grandchildren Jaysen, Hailey, Brock and Mattison; 4 sisters Ann (Kenneth) Putt and Julia (Kenneth) Gordon, both of Olean, Elizabeth Schick of Eldred, PA and Theresa (Walter) Brol of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters Viola Bush, Mary Gunns and Sophie White in addition to four brothers John Kolasinski, Stanley Kolasinski, Theodore Kolasinski and Lucas Kolasinski. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:30pm. A prayer service will be held Friday (January 12, 2007) at 11:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in Transfiguration Church. Rev. Jerome Stelmach, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Transfiguration Church.
