Obituary of Steven D. Boser

Steven D. Boser “Humanitarian” Steven D. Boser of Allegany NY passed away at home, surrounded by family, Saturday February 3, 2007. Steven was born February 12, 1962 in Olean, NY. He was the son of the Ann M. Cheladyn Boser and Theodore Boser. Mr. Boser was a 1980 graduate of Allegany Central School and had resided in Allegany his entire life. He was a partner along with his brothers, in a family owned dairy farm which he loved and spent much of his time working on. He was a businessman, oil producer, maple syrup producer, philanthropist and devoted family man. Steven was a generous contributor to many charitable organizations including Olean General Hospital’s Ann M. Cheladyn Boser Cardiac Rehabilitation Center and The S.D. Boser strength training facility at St. Bonaventure University. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family. Steven will be sadly missed by all. Mr. Boser was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Olean Exchange Club, Honorary member of the Allegany Fire Department, NRA and Olean Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Thropp Boser and two step-sons Eric Everetts and Logan Everetts. He is also survived by sisters Wilma Chesnut, Bonnie (Edward) Harrier, Laurie (Richard) Zimmerman, Jr., all of Allegany and Carol (Robert) Knell of Duke Center, PA: brothers Leonard Boser and Charles Boser both of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Ann M. Cheladyn Boser on September 13, 2004. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig &Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday February 7, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany from noon until 1:00pm at which time funeral services will be held. Rev. Gerard leFeber, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department, Homecare and Hospice 1225W.
