Obituary of James C. Leonard

James C. Leonard Olean—James C. Leonard of 3121 W. State Road Olean, formerly of N 3rd St. in Allegany, passed away Monday March 26, 2007 at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 8, 1937 in Olean, he was the son of Francis and Edna M. Cunningham Leonard. On June 14, 1969 in Hinsdale he married Sharon K. O’Donnell who predeceased him on August 10, 1997. Mr. Leonard attended Olean High School and served with the US Navy. He was a retired truck driver for the City of Olean where he worked from 1968 until 1999. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and CSEA. He enjoyed stock car racing and playing Bingo. Surviving are a daughter Teresa ( Jeff) Carapellatti of Allegany; 3 grandchildren Derreck, Brandon and Jade; 1 brother Raymond F. (Grace) Leonard of Montgomery, AL ; special friends Tom and Oria Karroach of Allegany, Charles “Buster” and Carol Tarbox of Olean, Lynn Baldi and Lisa Baldi of Franklinville. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Friday March 30, 2007 from 2-4pm, and 7-9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 31 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home with Father Gregory Dobson pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church officiating. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Homecare& Hospice 1225 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760, American Cancer Society or to the Allegany Fire Department.
