Marion H. “Chub” Boser
“Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend”
Allegany, NY—Marion H. “Chub” Boser, 82, of Chipmonk Rd. passed from this world surrounded by loving family and his devoted companion on Wednesday (May 2, 2007) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. He had three successful battles against cancer since the first onset of his illness.
Born December 9, 1924 in Allegany, NY he was the son and one of ten children of Charles J. and Bessie Kreamer Boser. On July 19, 1947 he married Kathryn S. Booth, his loving wife of 53 years, who left this world May 25, 2001.
Mr. Boser first worked as a farmer prior to being employed for Dresser Clark for over twenty years. He then was a self-employed landscaper and also operated B & B Enterprises in Chipmonk which specialized in mobile home transportation and setup.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany, the National Rifle Association and also the Wine Makers Association. He was a life-long gardener, hunter, fisherman, trapper and beekeeper. He was noted for his love of wine making and received numerous ribbons and trophies throughout the past few years. He enjoyed music and dancing as well as pie baking.
Surviving are 4 children Sandra (Charles) Duckworth of Wyoming, NY, David (Kathy) Boser of Allegany, Robert (Roxan) Boser of Allegany and Lynda (!LeRoy) Olver of Olean; 12 grandchildren including Edward C. Boser who resided with his grandparents in Allegany; 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Raymond Boser of Springville, Theodore Boser of NC; 1 sister Ruby Ewalt of Ridgway, PA; several nieces and nephews and a companion and fiancée Mary Cory of Allegany.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a son William C. Boser on July 3, 1983 and a great grandson Noah David Boser on September 20, 2002.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 1-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (May 7, 2007) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Gerard leFeber, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm and Carlton Streets Buffalo, NY 14263, the American Heart Association or to the Allegany Fire Department.
