Obituary of Daniel R. Covley

Daniel R. Covley “Loving Dad, Brother, Uncle” Portville, NY—Daniel R. Covley of 13 Temple St. died Saturday (July 28, 2007) suddenly at his home. Born June 20, 1955 in Olean, NY he was the son of John L. and Jane Garin Covley. Mr. Covley was a 1973 graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School. He also attended Jamestown Community College and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He was employed for 28 years by Dresser Rand. Most recently he was employed by Kenneth Crosby—New York, Inc. as a technical support specialist for Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, NY. He was a member of the American Purchasing Society, Inc. and of St. Mary of the Angels Church. Surviving are 1 daughter Ashleigh Danielle Covley of Florida; 1 son Eric Andrew Covley of California; their mother Angela Wright; 2 brothers George A. (Patricia) Covley of West Seneca, Thomas F. (Mary) Covley of Rochester; 4 sisters Mary Jane (Art) Covley Walker of Dunkirk, Theresa A. (Chuck) Shaffer of Olean, Kathleen M. Covley of Rochester and Rita D. (Deno) Mikowicz of Olean and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 2 brothers Joseph Covley in 1963 and John T. Covley in 1998 and twin sisters Jean Covley and Joan Covley in 1956. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (August 3, 2007) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Msgr. Gerald Ritchie of Erie, PA, cousin to Mr. Covley, will be the principal celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
