“Loving wife and mother”
Allegany, NY—Lorraine L. Lemon of 140 N. 3rd St. died Wednesday (August 15, 2007) in the Olean General Hospital after a short illness.
Born November 11, 1944 in St. Mary’s, PA she was the beloved daughter of Clyde W. and Dorothy M. Blouse Keifer of Limestone, NY. On May 1, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany she married the love of her life, Ronald F. Lemon.
Mrs. Lemon had formerly worked at AVX and also for Olean Wholesale. She then worked as the general manager of Ron’s Smoke Shop in Vandalia until her retirement.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed NASCAR, Buffalo Bills football, knitting and crocheting. The most important part of Mrs. Lemon’s life was her family and friends, of whom she had many. There was no greater joy in her life than spending time with her husband, daughters and family. She was dearly loved and her loss will cause emptiness in the lives of many people. Her wonderful caring love and kindness toward others as well as her humor and zest for life will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters Cynthia Lemon of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sherry Lemon of Olean; 2 grandchildren; 1 sister Joyce A. (Bruce) Payne of Cincinnati, OH; 1 aunt Marie Gilligan of Brandon, FL and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, 1 son Richard Lemon in 1994 and 1 brother William C. Keifer, Sr.
Visitation will be at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday (August 18, 2007) from 9:30am until 10:30am at which time a prayer service will be held. Visitation will continue at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany from 11:00am until time of services at noon. Rev. Gerard leFeber, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
