Charles E. Jackson
Olean, NY—Charles E. Jackson of 711 Garden Ave. died Friday September 14, 2007 at Absolut of Allegany after a short illness.
Born November 26, 1918 in Oil City, PA he was the son of Albert and Katherine Dewoody Jackson.
Mr. Jackson resided in Oil City for many years and he attended the University of Pittsburgh. He was a student of anthropology and was developing his vocal talents when he enlisted in the US Army. He served during WWII and was the recipient of 3 bronze stars.
He moved to Olean in 1967 and was a member of the YMCA for over 30 years. He also served as a volunteer at the Olean General Hospital for 13 years.
He has no close living relatives but was dearly loved by two close friends Mary Taylor of Allegany and Hank Dlugosz of Olean.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Oil City, PA. on Wednesday September 19, 2007 at 11am.
Memorials may be made to the Medical Laboratory at Olean General Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
