Rita M. Lickfeld “loving mother and grandmother”
Olean, NY—Rita M. Lickfeld of 633 Genesee St. died Thursday (October 4, 2007) in Cuba Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born June 2, 1925 in Franklinville, NY she was the daughter of Peter and Mary Capellati Maffei. On February 15, 1946 in Blasdell, NY she married Clarence Lickfeld who predeceased her December 20, 1973.
Mrs. Lickfeld was employed as an office manager for New York Telephone Co. in Franklinville, Olean and Buffalo prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and she was a wonderful cook.
Surviving are 1 son Gary (Barbara) Lickfeld of Olean; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 sister Millicent (Anthony) Amitrano of Franklinville; 2 nephews and a friend and companion Robert Murray.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 1 daughter Cynthia Bos in 1997.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held Monday (October 8, 2007) at 11:00am at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Sr. Regina Gertrude, OSF, will officiate. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
