Margaret E. “Peg” Root Olean—Margaret E.“Peg” Root of 350 Front St. passed away Saturday (October 6, 2007) at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Born April 26, 1920 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Seldon and Rosa Ford Root. She was a graduate of Olean High School and was employed by the Olean Medical Group as an X-ray Technician retiring in 1985. Peg enjoyed garage “sailing”, doing crossword puzzles and playing poker with her family. She loved children and animals and said if she ever won the lottery she would buy her own animal shelter. She will be sadly missed by her family. Surviving are a sister !DeMaris (Michael) Lynch of Olean; 5 nieces Jennifer (John) Hart of Oceanside CA, Lindsey (Bryan) Dodson of Olean, Joan (Joseph) John of Olean; Kathleen (Albert) Abdo of Rushford, Alice “Ginger” (Thomas) Moser of Olean; 4 nephews Michael (Phyllis) Eaton of Chesapeake VA, Christopher (Tina) Eaton of Great Vine TX, Kevin (Carla) Eaton of Dallas TX, Rick (Carolyn) Root of Cuba; and several great- nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Donald Root and Harold Root and a nephew Timothy Root. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday (October 11, 2007) at 2pm at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Olean. Rev. John L. Wolff will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials if desired can be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Road, Olean. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean
