Obituary of Martha Ann Drake

Martha Ann Drake Olean, NY—Martha Ann Drake of 119 N. 19th St. Olean died Monday (October 8, 2007) in Bradford, PA. Born August 24, 1939 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Orrin G. and Margaret Tenglund Drake, Jr. Miss Drake was a 1957 graduate of Olean High School and received her BA at St. Bonaventure University in 1961. She then graduated from SUNY Albany in 1970 with an MS in Library Science. She worked in the library at Catholic University in Washington, DC from 1961 to 1963 and then worked for many years as an acquisition librarian at St. Bonaventure University, retiring in December 2001. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Surviving are a sister Janet L. Drake of Buffalo and several cousins, including many in the Olean area. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Thursday from 4-8pm where a prayer service will be held Friday (October 12, 2007) at 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church, Olean. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church or to Bethany Lutheran Church in Olean.
