John C. Mohr “Local dog enthusiast” Allegany, NY—John C. Mohr of 3838 Slocum Hollow Rd. died unexpectedly Saturday (October 27, 2007) shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital. Born November 1, 1951 in Olean, NY he was the son of Edwin J. and Clara V. Siperek Mohr. On June 7, 1975 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany he married Debra A. Case who survives. Mr. Mohr was a graduate of Allegany High School and received a degree in civil engineering from Alfred State College. He was a lifelong resident of Allegany where along with his wife he co-owned and operated Pinekroff Kennels, Inc. He also operated John Mohr Trucking Co. He was a 28 year member of the Olean Kennel Club having served as its past president and he also served as its show chairman for two of its points shows each year. In addition to being an avid hunter, his passions were showing dogs, farming and raising Simmental beef cattle. Surviving besides his wife are 1 sister Diane (Robert) Harkness of Dryden; 1 brother Frank Mohr of Burlington, WY and 2 nieces. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (October 31, 2007) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department.
