Willard F. Wehust Willard F. Wehust of 3991 Birch Run Rd. Allegany died Wednesday (August 14, 2002) in his home after a lengthy illness. Born January 13, 1917 in Ellicottville, NY he was the son of William and Hannah Dreier Wehust. On August 16, 1941 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany he married Evelyn Marie Reitz who predeceased him July 25, 1992. Mr. Wehust was a 1937 graduate of Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean and had been employed at American Olean Tile Co. for 44 years as an accountant, retiring as purchasing manager in 1981. A resident of Allegany most of his life, he was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Lutheran Club, having served as its secretary He was also on the finance committee of the church. From 1953 until 1964 he served as the Sunday School Superintendent. He was also on the Allegany Central School Board from 1962 until 1970 during which time he served as its president. He especially enjoyed raising poultry and he was also a vegetable gardener where he grew and sold blueberries. Surviving are 1 son William W. (Yvonne) Wehust of Caneadea, NY; 1 daughter Kathleen (David) Eggert of Allegany; 2 grandsons Daniel Eggert and Thomas Eggert and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 1 sister Marion Razey in 1972. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (August 16, 2002) at 11:00am in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Gerard Lefeber, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to Homecare and Hospice, 1225 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760.
