James Kryniski
“Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather”
Salamanca, NY-- James Kryniski of 4211 Killbuck Rd., town of Great Valley died Tuesday (April 25, 2006) in the Olean General Hospital.
Born January 27, 1912 in Poland he was the son of Fred and Mary Nycacha Kryniski. On February 23, 1946 at Transfiguration Church in Olean he married the former Mary Agnes Molenda who predeceased him June 29, 1999.
Mr. Kryniski attended school in Great Valley and entered the US Army during WWII where he served in New Guinea, Luzon and Germany.
He first worked at the CC camps in Great Valley and later he had been employed for the B&O/C&O Railroad in Salamanca for many years, retiring over 25 years ago.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Salamanca American Legion. He always enjoyed working around his home with hobbies such as working on motors, sharpening blades, gardening and splitting wood. He also did word search puzzles.
Surviving are 2 daughters Agnes "Maria" (John) Sciotti of Olean and Helen M. Mye of Pearland, TX; 5 grandchildren Julie Morgan, Tim Morgan, Govanni Sciotti, Stephanie Wilson and Debbie Lorraine; 3 great grandchildren Lee Athey, Christopher Athey and Keith Wilson; 2 brothers Moxie (Lorena) Kryniski of Salamanca and Joseph Kryniski of Olean; 1 sister Mary (Paul) Janowicz of Great Valley and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 3 sisters Katherine Matthews, Tillie Prebynski and Anna Kryniski.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean today from 7 to 8:30 and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (April 29, 2006) beginning with a prayer service at 9:15am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Holy Cross Church, Salamanca. Burial will be in Green Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
