Obituary of Florence M. Gordon

Florence M. Gordon “Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother,sister” Cuba, NY-- Florence M. Gordon of 88 South St. died Wednesday (May 10, 2006) in her home with her family by her side. Born April 26, 1932 in Bolivar, NY she was the daughter of Arthur and Gladys Heyshem Stuck. On April 6, 1957 in Bradford, PA she married Charles B. “Bud” Gordon who predeceased her January 9, 2005. Mrs. Gordon was raised in the Richburg and Friendship areas and had been employed for AVX Corp. in Olean for many years. Prior to her retirement she worked as an aide for the Allegany Nursing Home, now The Waters in Allegany. She had a special love for the outdoors where she enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She enjoyed playing bingo and she especially enjoyed being with her family. Surviving are 2 daughters Sharon (Lee) Hendryx of Portville and Marcie (Mike) eno of Olean; 1 son Edward Gordon of Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren Christopher (Lori) Nolan of Silver Springs, Mark Nolan of Portville, Tammy (Don) Auge of Great Valley, Lisa (Edgar James) See of Hinsdale and Richard Veno of North Ampton, PA; 6 grandchildren Jeremy Cobin, Matt Cobin, Tiffany Nolan, Carl Auge, Katie Auge and Taylor See; 2 special girls Judy Clift of Plant City, FL and Sally Dear of Endicott, NY; 2 sisters Joyce (James) Forrest of Ischua and Lillian (James) Blouvet of Friendship; 6 brothers Donald (Mildred) Stuck of Friendship, Kenneth (Marian) Stuck of Bolivar, Fred (Barbara) Stuck of Fillmore, Arthur (Linda) Stuck, Jr. of Almond, Douglas (Linda) Stuck of Friendship and Gary Stuck of Friendship and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a sister Mary Stuck and 2 brothers Robert Stuck and James Stuck. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean today from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (May 13, 2006) at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Rev. David Herne of Heritage Aflame Ministries will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cuba Fire Department or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
