Obituary of Dave J. Edwards

Dave J. Edwards “loved trapping” Allegany, NY—Dave J. Edwards of 4089 Birch Run Rd. died Thursday (November 30, 2006) in his home after a long illness. Born February 19, 1941 in Olean, NY he was the son of William M. and Margaret Ross Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean and Allegany most of his life. He had been employed by Dresser Rand Co. as a machine operator for over 30 years, retiring 3 years ago. He also owned and operated Buffalo Creek Products and was passionate about trapping and hunting. He also enjoyed learning Native American culture and learning about his own family history. He was a member of the National Trapper’s Association. Surviving are his loving companion Carol Clark of Allegany; 1 daughter Tamela Mascho of Belmont; 4 grandchildren Matthew Harnish, Kiara Harnish, Krystal Harnish and David W. Edwards; 2 sisters Jean M. (Andrew) Burrow of Van Wert, OH and Rosemary (Ray) Paladino of Allegany; 1 brother William M. (Claudia) Edwards, Jr. of Deposit and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; 1 son David J. Edwards, Jr.; 2 brothers Richard J. Edwards and Robert Edwards and 1 sister Dorothy Sirianni. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held Sunday (December 3, 2006) at 2:30pm in the funeral home. Fr. Richard, Husted, OFM, pastor of St. Bonaventure Church, will officiate. Burial will be by cremation. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Allegany Fire Department.
