Charles B. Austin "loving husband, father and grandfather Zephyr Hills, FL-Charles B. Austin of 41227 Whitmere Dr., formerly of Olean, died Sunday (January 2, 2005) in Zephyr Haven Nursing Home after a long illness. Born July 31, 1928 in Cuba, NY he was the son of Charles and Carmelita Metcalf Austin. He was married to Jeanette Austin who survives. Mr. Austin was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and worked in Olean for the Market Basket Stores for 44 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany and he enjoyed traveling and golf. Surviving besides his wife are 9 children Bruce (Dale) Austin of Casa Grande, AZ, Cynthia Austin of Rochester, Marcia Austin of Virginia Beach, VA, Joel Austin of Zephyrhills, FL, Theresa (Shane) !LeBlanc of Zephyrhills, FL, Lisa (Bruce) Richter of Tampa, FL, James (Barbara) Chase of Richburg, Beth Hamm of Olean and Amy Chase of Zephyrhills, FL; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Robert Austin Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Friday (January 7, 2005) at 11:00am in St. John's Lutheran Church. Rev. Gerald leFeber, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Dr. Ste 6 Williamsville, NY 14221-7380.
