Obituary of Gordon Huff

Gordon N. Huff Olean – Gordon N. Huff of South 25th Street and formerly of Zephyr Hills, FL, died Monday January 3, 2005 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. Born in Olean on February 9, 1913 he was a son of Edward and Mary Cahill Huff. On September 30, 1936 he married Margaret !McCaa who predeceased him September 4, 1984. Mr. Huff was a graduate of Olean High School. He served in the National Guard and later in the US Navy during WWII. He was self employed mechanic for several years and later was employed as a steam fireman for the Olean school district retiring in the 1970's. He was a life member of the Olean rod and gun club, and a life member of the Allegany American Legion. He was a former member of the Olean Eagles. He is survived by a daughter Patricia A. Connelly of Olean, three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister Mildred Haut of Queens Berry, NY. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Richard Huff, and his companion of many years, Brabara Chesner. Friends will be received on Thursday January 6, 2005 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd, Olean from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A prayer service will follow. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
