RUTH SHORTER "loved by all" OLEAN - Ruth Shorter of West Green Street died Friday January 14, 2005 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Born in Olean on August 30, 1948 she was a daughter of Robert and Irene Gayton Clemons. Ruth was employed at Alcas Cutlery for several years prior to her illness. She enjoyed bowling. Her recipe for macaroni and cheese was known as the best in the area. She loved her grandchildren and they were close to her heart. In addition to her mother of Olean, she is survived by her lifelong companion Muhummed Ramadhan of Olean; five children, Marcie Shorter of Olean, Jerri (Paris) Williams of Oklahoma, Beilah (Tara) Ramadhan , Aben (April) Ramadhan and Khaleiah Ramadhan, all of Olean; three sisters, Carolyn Fuller of Olean, Irene R. Clemons of Cincinnati, OH, Lori Clemons of Buffalo, NY; four brothers, Robert William Clemons, Arthur Clemons, Mark Clemons and Carl Clemons, all of Olean; eleven grandchildren; several aunts, one uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special sister-in-law Maryama Jackson of West Valley, NY. She was predeceased by her father on February 13, 1998. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd. Olean on Sunday January 16, 2005 from 7-9 PM. Funeral and committal services will be conducted on Monday (January 17th) at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Christian Assembly. Bishop Marion Richey of Church of God of Prophesy will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
