NORMAN L. PIXLEY FRANKLINVILLE – Norman L. Pixley of Maple Avenue died Monday February 7, 2005 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Delevan, NY on March 2, 1934 he was a son of Gordon and Calla Pollard Pixley. On December 11, 1954 in Franklinville he married Lucy Ann Doty who predeceased him February 22, 2004. Mr. Pixley served in the United States Army from May of 1957 through April of 1959. He was employed for the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works from 1954 until his retirement in 1989. He was supervisor of the department for 22 years. Mr. Pixley enjoyed bowling and golf. He loved being with his family. He was a member of Hinsdale American Legion, post 1334, the Franklinville IOOB and the Franklinville VFW. He is survived by two daughters Barb (Jeff) Coen and Lorraine (Jeff) Linderman and one son Johnny (Lynnette) Pixley, all of Franklinville; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers Howard (Wynetta) Pixley of Florida and Virgil (Gerry) Pixley of Olean; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by brothers Donald Pixley and Duane Pixley. There will be no public visitations. Services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Franklinville Volunteer Ambulance Squad. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean.
