James J. Fries Allegany – James J. Fries of 3974 Rt. 417 died Sunday February 13, 2005 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Allegany, NY on October 24, 1927 he was a son of Joseph and Mary Suittor Fries. On May 24, 1952 in Franklinville, NY he married Shirley Boye who survives. He was a graduate of Allegany High School. He worked for local oil leases and at the A. Weston Lumber Company. He retired from Dresser Clark after 32 years where he was known as "Pa Rotor". Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Jefry Fries; daughters Alvena (Brian) Babb and Susan (Lawrence) Grigsby; grandchildren Jason and Jennifer Fries, Eric, Elizabeth and Mark Grigsby and Aaron and Casey Babb; Sisters; Dolores "Dolly" Estes and Elizabeth "Betty" Fries. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Fries and Edmund "Guy" Fries. There will be no public visitations. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday February 19, 2005 at Allegany Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Rev. Andrew Haskins, pastor of the Allegany Free Methodist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Free Methodist Church, c/o Youth Ministry, Five Mile Rd., Allegany, NY 14706. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean
