Obituary of Mary Charlotte Farr

Mary Charlotte Farr Allegany, NY-- Mary Charlotte Farr of 2206 Sheldon Dr. died Sunday (February 27, 2005) in The Pines Healthcare Facility, Olean where she had resided for the past two weeks. Born December 18, 1907 in Olean she was a graduate of Westbrook Commercial Academy. She was married to !LaVerne R. Herron who predeceased her. On September 4, 1948 in Allegany she married Gerald L. Farr, Sr. who predeceased her June 8, 1989. Mrs. Farr was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany and belonged to its Ladies Guild. She belonged to the Sixty Plus Club in Allegany and enjoyed playing piano and spending time with her family. She resided in Allegany most of her life and spent several years traveling to Florida in the winter. Surviving are 1 daughter Beverly (Donald) Charles of Bolivar; 3 sons Russell (Sarah Proctor) Herron and Gerald (Nancy) Farr, Jr., both of Allegany and David (Janice) Herron of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 1 sister Katherine Garr of Seattle, WA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by a son David Farr in 1967; 1 brother Clark Russell and 1 sister Helen Simons. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday (March 3, 2005) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Marilyn Hale, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Portville will officiate in the absence of Rev. Daniel !McKee. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Allegany 44 N. 3rd St. Allegany, NY or to the Allegany Fire Department.
