Wendell C. "Rick" Colburn "loving husband and family man" Allegany, NY-- Wendell C. "Rick" Colburn of 4115 S. Nine Mile Rd. died at home Sunday (April 3, 2005). He was born May 17, 1948 and was married on July 23, 1977 in Brooklyn Center, MN to Susan C. Hedden who survives. Mr. Colburn was a resident of Allegany since 1988 and had been employed as a cook for St. Bonaventure University, the former L’Alcove Restaurant and the former Castle Restaurant. He was a member of the St. Stephen’s Club and the Olean Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed shooting pool and having fun with his friends. To those who knew him well, he would ask that you "tip one back" in his honor and memory. Surviving besides his wife are 3 children Richard (Olivia) Colburn of Eaton, OH, Jeffrey (Kristin) Colburn of Allegany and Tamara (Shane) Studley of Portville; 4 grandchildren Zachrey Colburn, Kyle Colburn, Madalyn Colburn and Alyssa Studley; 6 brothers and sisters Dale (Ruth) Tubbs of New Hampshire, Diana (Ron) Verges of Festus, MO, Brenda (Mark) Fuller of Wasilla, AK, Steven (Christine) Colburn of Idaho, Robert Colburn and Cynthia Colburn, both of California and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A service of remembrance will be held Thursday (April 7, 2005) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Dan !McKee, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany will officiate. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Homecare and Hospice 1225 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760 or to the Allegany Fire Department.
