Obituary of Lucy A. Passerino

Lucy A. Passerino "loving mother and grandmother" Olean, NY-- Lucy A. Passerino of 1664 Allegany St. died Saturday (April 30, 2005) in the Cuba Skilled Nursing Facility, Cuba after a short illness. Born January 13, 1920 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Michael and Mary Pascarella Bean. On June 14, 1941 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married John L. Passerino who died August 31, 1992. Mrs. Passerino was a 1939 graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean all of her life. She worked for the former Jaynes’s Clothing Store in Olean for several years and she later worked at the Second Time Around antique store in Olean. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and the Sixty Plus Club in Allegany. She enjoyed antiques and line dancing. Surviving are 3 daughters Judy A. (James) Hitchcock and Nancy A. (Dale) Shively, both of Allegany and Joan M. Passerino of Clifton, VA; 1 son John D. (Patricia) Passerino of Allegany; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 2 step grandchildren; 3 sisters Rose (James) Grego, Louise (Quido) Ramire and Theresa (John) Karowitz, all of Olean; 1 brother John Bean of Olean, several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Mickilina Rubino of Olean. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 4 sisters Angeline Post, Frances O’Connell, Jennie Hatch and Carmel (Cubby) Bean and 3 brothers Joseph Rubino, James Bean and Carl Bean. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (May 3, 2005) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
