Obituary of Georgianna Hunter

Georgianna Hunter "loving mother and grandmother" Allegany, NY-- Georgianna Hunter of 119 W. Main St. died Friday (August 12, 2005) at Sr. Pat‘s Home in Olean, NY. Born July 22, 1926 in Shongo, NY she was the daughter of Mary Voorhees Lauser and the stepdaughter of Carl "Jake" Lauser. Mrs. Hunter was a graduate of Allegany High School and had been employed as a cook at Sister Pat’s Home in Olean. She traveled often in earlier years while working at military bases in various parts of the world. She later worked at Mary’s Diner in Allegany and also for the former Castle Motel. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Surviving are 6 children Mary Jo (Charles) Haus of Bridgeport, CT, Veronika Hunter of Houston, TX, Dawn Spindler of Arlington, TX, Edwin Hunter, Jr. and Carl Hunter, both of Allegany and James (Dawn) Hunter, Sr. of Arlington, TX; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Emma Mae Hunter and a grandson Scott Haus. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 3 until 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday (August 15, 2005) at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
