Frances A. Riggs Olean, NY-- Frances A. Riggs of Olean died Saturday ( August 13, 2005) in The Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center, Olean. Born February 17, 1918 in Ischua, NY she was the daughter of Harold T. and Clara E. Nix Chesebro. On October 29, 1939 she married Franklyn W. Riggs who predeceased her January 24, 2001. Mrs. Riggs graduated from Ten Broek Academy in Franklinville and later from Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean. She had resided in Olean for many years prior to moving to Groveland, FL in 1988. She returned to live at Eden Heights in Olean three years ago. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a longtime bridge player and golfer. Surviving are 3 sons Thomas (Marlene) Riggs of Tomball, TX, David (Alberta) Riggs of Allegany and F. William Riggs, II of Tulsa, OK; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister Gwendolyn (Dick) Sain of Buffalo and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a brother Hal N. Chesebro. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to The Pines of Olean 2245 W. State St. Olean, NY 14760. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
