Obituary of Susan D. Burlingame

Susan D. Burlingame "generous and loving woman" W. Henrietta, NY-- Susan D. Burlingame of 46 Egret Drive died Thursday (August 25, 2005) in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester after a short illness. Born October 14, 1946 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of Garrett and Avonelle Starner Crosson. On April 26, 1975 at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean she married Lewis Burlingame who survives. Mrs. Burlingame was a 1964 graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School and worked for Dresser Clark for 36 years. She was a resident of the Olean and Hinsdale areas for most of her life, moving to W. Henrietta one year ago. She was a former member of the Hinsdale UM Church, a former member of the Hinsdale Guys and Gals and she will be remembered as a sweetheart who was devoted to her family. Surviving besides her husband are a son Lance (Marlene) Burlingame of W. Henrietta; 2 grandchildren Brooke Burlingame and Jacob Burlingame; 2 sisters Betty (Jack) Rutterman of Portville and Paula (Jim) Freitag of Olean; 1 brother Thomas (Sharron) Crosson of Olean and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a niece Linda Emick in 2001. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Sunday (August 28, 2005) at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Carl Schultz, pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
