Michael J. Burke "Loving husband, father and grandfather" Allegany – Michael J. Burke of 3974 Route 417 died Thursday September 1, 2005 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Belmont, NY on March 17, 1947 he was the son of Joseph and Marian Kline Burke. On November 24, 1991 in Belmont, NY he married Barbara A. Webb who survives. Mr. Burke served in the United States Army from 1970 through 1971. He was employed as a counselor at New Directions for 12 years. He was a member of the Napoli United Methodist Church and a 34 year member of the Wellsville American Legion. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, newspapers and socializing with his friends every morning for coffee. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Jennifer Burke of Dunkirk, NY and Molly (Lance) Carlin of Andover, NY; two stepsons Eddie (Lisa) Seavey and David (Nikki) Seavey, both of Fl; a step daughter Melissa (Tom) Schwartz of Salamanca, NY; two granddaughters, seven step grandchildren and many friends including Leonard Laieski and Laurie Fowler. He was predeceased by both parents. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd. on Monday September 5, 2005 from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at which time funeral and committal services will be conducted. Rev. Michael Trenchard, pastor of Napoli United Methodist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, c/o Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642.
