Obituary of Thomas R. McConnaughey

Thomas R. !McConnaughey "Loving Husband, father and son" Allegany – Thomas R. !McConnaughey of North Second Street died unexpectedly on Friday December 30, 2005. Born in Kenmore, NY on July 6, 1962 he was a son of Robert E. and Katherine Szymanski !McConnaughey. On February 20, 1980 in Olean he married Eileen Preston who survives. He was a graduate of Olean High School. Mr. !McConnaughey served in the Unites States Air Force from 1980 through 1984. He was self employed as a contractor. Tom was a member of the Allegany American Legion and the St. Stephen's Club. He loved hunting, hockey and NASCAR. Tom was well liked and respected by many. His family will always remember him for his hard work and kind heart. In addition to his wife he is survived by his parents Robert and Katherine !McConnaughey of Olean; two daughters Katie !McConnaughey and Julia !McConnaughey, both of Allegany; a brother Allen (Cathy) !McConnaughey of Olean; a sister Julie !McConnaughey of Hinsdale and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents. Friends will be received on Monday January 2, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean. Funeral and committal services will be private. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
