DONALD L. BECKMAN "Beloved Husband, father and papa" SALAMANCA – Donald L. Beckman of 212 Washington Street died Wednesday February 11, 2004 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Buffalo. Born in Olean on March 25, 1947 he was a son of the late Robert K. and Helen M. Rounds Beckman. On September 15, 1984 in Great Valley he married Debra S. Scott who survives. Mr. Beckman was a 1967 graduate of Allegany High School. He served in the United States Marines in Vietnam from 1968 through 1970. He later served in the Army National Guard from 1971 through 1973. He was employed for York – Merritt of Ellicottville, Rainbow Lake, Holiday Valley, Fancher Furniture and Norton and Smith Hardwoods. He was a member of the Ellicottville American Legion, Salamanca V.F.W. and the Disabled Vietnam Veteran's Association. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and football. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Ronald B. (Shannon) Scott of Salamanca, Donald L. (Bre) Beckman, II of Randolph, NY, Robert E. Beckman of Salamanca; three grandchildren, Rieley M. Scott, Connor J. Scott and Kameryn E. Hilliman; a twin brother Danold E. (Marlene) Beckman of Jamestown; a sister Carol A. Trimble of Port Richey, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two children, Tammy Lyn Beckman, Donald Allen Beckman and a brother, Ronald Beckman. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean on Saturday (February 14, 2004) from 7-9 PM and on Sunday (Feb. 15) from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday February 16, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jack Moriarty, pastor of the United Church of Ellicottville will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Ambulance Fund, the Salamanca Ambulance fund or to the Disabled Vietnam Veteran's Association.
