Obituary of Willie E. Milton, Jr.

Willie E. Milton, Jr. Olean, NY Willie E. Milton, Jr, 88, of 401 Alder St. passed away Friday November 29, 2024, at the Salamanca Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born December 15, 1935, in Washington, GA, he was the son of Willie E. Milton, Sr. and Alma West. On October 4, 1986, at the John Ash Community Center in Olean he married Sheila M. Rampsey who predeceased him on February 17, 2019. Willie was predeceased by 2 sons John Willie Milton and Gary Donnie Milton. He was also predeceased by his parents Willie Milton Sr and Alma West along with his mother-in-law Sarah McPeak and in-laws Loretta and Claude Green. Over the years he attended several area churches but found a home at the First Baptist Church in Olean. During his life he struggled with alcohol addiction but was proud to have remained sober for over 20 years. He attended the Linwood Center in Allegany and enjoyed socializing with all his friends there. Willie worked at Dresser Rand Co. and later for Subcon Industries in Olean. He enjoyed watching his favorite Westerns, solving puzzles and was a Miami Dolphins fan. He was an animal lover and cared deeply for his cat Black Boy. Willie left an imprint on the many people whom he met. This includes the family he found in his caregivers Johnny, Sharon, Jon, Jenn, Jasmine, Jovon, Kingston, Princeton, Legend, Legacy, and Storie Hall. A service will take place at Mt. Zion Church, 321 Front Street in Olean on December 15, 2024 beginning with calling hours from 2-3pm and with the service to immediately follow at 3PM. Any memorials if desired can be made to the Linwood Center in Allegany, NY. Arrangements are with the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
