Margaret D. "Peg" Gamel
Olean, NY-- Margaret D. "Peg" Gamel, 101, a former resident of 717 King St. died Thursday (February 25, 2004) in the Bradford Manor, Bradford, Pa.
Born January 9, 1903 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Doll. She was married to Lawrence Gamel who predeceased her in 1976.
Mrs. Gamel received her education from Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo and she also graduated from D’Youville College. She worked as a history teacher for 40 years for the Girls Vocational School in Buffalo, retiring in 1963. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church.
Surviving are a niece Elizabeth "Liz" (Gary) Williams of Olean and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a sister Frances Griffin.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held Monday (March 1, 2004) in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Buffalo, NY. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean.
