Obituary of Maynard Nelson Moore

Maynard Nelson Moore Olean, NY-- Maynard Nelson Moore of 824 S. Union St. Olean died Wednesday (October 9, 2002) in The Pines Health Care Center in Olean after a long illness. Born February 5, 1933 in Jamestown, NY he was the son of George Nelson and Florice Luce Moore. On October 25, 1958 at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean he married Joyce Elaine Hurd who survives. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the US Army. He was a member of IBEW Local 1249 and he also worked for Asplundh Tree Service, mostly as a subcontractor for Niagara Mohawk in Olean. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving besides his wife are 3 sons Robert Moore of Olean, Richard Moore of Gowanda and Don Moore of Cuba; 1 daughter Bonnie R. Daughtry of Texas; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Norman Moore of Allegany and Fredrick Moore of California and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a prayer service to be held Friday (October 11, 2002) at 1:00pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Rev. Paul Cauvel, minister of visitation at Christ United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany, Pa. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY 1284 French Road Depew, NY 14043. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
