Obituary of Kathleen S. McGavisk

Kathleen Sue McGavisk Portville, NY Kathleen Sue McGavisk died suddenly on December 20, 2023 at the age of 77. She is survived by her children, Scott Russo, Stan Russo, Salena Smith, Sophie Webb, Sam Russo, Sheila Anderson, and Simon Russo, along with 4 siblings Fred Higley, Glen Kamery, Sally Kamery, Mary Tobler. She also has 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 20 years, John McGavisk, her sister Karen Houghton, her parents Evelyn & Glen Kamery, and her granddaughter Arabella Rose Russo. Kathleen was born on November 3, 1946, in Olean, NY. Kathleen was a stay-at-home mother for most of her adult life and loved being a mom, and in later years, a grandma. As a child, she played the violin and as an adult, still had a love of music and was privileged to play at many conventions and assemblies. She was a very loyal Sister and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses on July 28, 1962. Kathleen enjoyed being in the ministry and attending Christian meetings. Kathleen often talked about her hope of the future paradise. We eagerly look forward to a time when we can see her again but until then we know Kathleen is resting and is safe in Jehovah’s infinite memory. The family would like to thank Olean General Hospital, and the great staff who kept all the family informed. This was so sudden, and their attention to this was greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2pm on Saturday (January 6, 2024) at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness 4258 NY-16, Hinsdale, NY 14743. A service will begin at 2pm. Arrangements are by the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
