Arlene W. Mall Allegany, NY Arlene W. Mall, 82, of 3723 Karl Rd., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday (November 26, 2023) at her home. Born September 27, 1941 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Rev. Albert and Eleanor Trank Williams. Her father was a well-known Baptist church planter and pastor in the PA, NY and NJ areas having last settled in Allegany in 1986. On June 7, 1969 at Faith Baptist Church in Fairless Hills, PA she married Rev. Michael P. Mall who survives. Arlene was a graduate of Lockport High School and then attended Baptist Bible Seminary (now Davis College) in Johnson City, NY. She continued her studies at Baptist Bible College (now Clarks Summit University) in Clarks Summit, PA. She ministered throughout her life in many different ways, first by teaching Sunday school starting at the age of 12, and later utilized her talents and training as a musician and teacher. When her father was active in ministry, she sometimes would sing during his local television network and radio station broadcasts. She was multilingual, having studied German, and taught Sunday School in Spanish in Philadelphia, PA. She ministered alongside her husband Mike as they traveled to do missionary work. While they were serving as missionaries in NYC from 1976 to 1979 she used her Chinese speaking ability to teach God’s word. She was also a gifted vocalist and studied opera at the Chicago Academy of Music during which time she met her husband to be. Those who listened to her sing God’s praises were blessed. She had a lifelong love of helping others and serving the Lord. She enjoyed ministering to the Spiritual needs of children through teaching in several Christian Day Schools throughout NY and Pa. She and her husband had also written their own Vacation Bible School material which they used to minister in many churches throughout the Northeast. Arlene enjoyed other interests outside of ministry by crocheting, especially afghans, entertaining in her home, and participating in community theater while living in DuBois, PA in the 1990’s. In DuBois she also worked for radio station WDBA, now a part of Family Life Network. A job she absolutely loved and was well-suited for was as “Lady Liberty” for Liberty Tax in Olean from 2007-2012. She leaves behind her husband of 54 years; 4 sons, Noel “Matt” Mall of Allegany, Michael Paul Lee Mall II of Cherry Hill, NJ, Daniel Albert Williams Mall of Allegany, and David Jonathan Mall of Kingston, PA, and 6 granddaughters, including Rayna, Karis, Lydia, and Eliana, all of Cherry Hill, NJ. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Peggy Louise Williams in 1969. The family will receive friends on Sunday (December 3, 2023) from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at the Five Mile Baptist Church, 3624 Five Mile Rd., Allegany. A funeral service will begin at 4pm in the church. Deacon Tom Potter will officiate. Following the service, light refreshments will be offered in the fellowship hall. Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany on Monday (December 4, 2023) at 10am. As blue was Arlene's favorite color, if you like, you may wear something blue in remembrance of her. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
