Obituary of John L. Sinsabaugh

John L. Sinsabaugh Olean- John L. Sinsabaugh, 57, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (July 22, 2023) at home. Born January 2, 1966, in Olean, he was the son of Donald and Yone Hirano Sinsabaugh. On May 26, 2021, in Olean, he married Amanda Wagner who survives. John was a 1984 graduate of Olean High School and excelled in football from Peewees all the way through high school. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1984 and served until 1988. He was employed at Cutco as a woodshop operator and also worked for Seneca Gaming & Entertainment Oil Spring as well as The Pines of Olean as a CNA. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, listening to Ramones, cooking, and shooting pool. He especially loved hunting and fishing with his kids. He will be sorely missed by his canine companion, Bella, and had been looking forward to being a grandfather for the first time. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Kevin Sinsabaugh of Olean, Aubrey (Seth) Chittum of OIean, and Hannah Hulbert, Oakley Hulbert, and Blaine Donahue all at home. He is also survived his life-long friend, William Hilliard. He was predeceased by his parents, and best friend Kevin King. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Friday (July 28, 2023) at 11am in the funeral home, with full military honors being accorded by the Allegany American Legion Ritual Team. Rev. Dr. Anthony Evans will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean.
