Obituary of Nancy E. Loop

Nancy E. Loop Olean, NY Nancy E. Loop, 77, of 643 Delaware Ave., passed away Monday (May 29, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital after a short illness. Born March 18, 1946 in Olean, she was the daughter of Thomas and Marjorie Plucker Barber. On February 14, 1987 she married Duane R. Loop who survives. Nancy attended Olean schools. She worked for a period of time for St. Bonaventure University. For over 20 years she offered babysitting services, a job she truly enjoyed. She last worked for Walmart in Olean and retired after 16 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband as a member of the Olean Coasters, and she always loved vacationing with her family, including trips to Disney World since it first opened. Her home was the spot for large family gatherings, and she loved everyone being around for the Christmas holidays. As her family grew larger with more and more grandkids, she continued to play games and other activities along with them. She leaves behind her husband “Loopy”; 6 children Barbara Loop of Olean, David (Sharon) Inman of Portville, Debra Loop of Olean, Debbie (Martin) Perry of Corning, Angela Bennett of Portville, and Brenda Martin of Woodstock, VA; over 20 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren; 1 brother Thomas (Betty) Barber of Eureka, IL, and nieces and nephews. She was looking forward to the arrival of her first great-great granddaughter Saylor. She was predeceased by a son Thomas Loop in 2017. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Friday (June 2, 2023) at 11am in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Anthony Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
