Obituary of Rose Marie Doty

Rose Marie Doty Olean, NY Rose Marie Doty, 74, a resident of Olean most of her life, passed away Monday (January 23, 2023) at Cuba Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, where she had been residing for the past year. Born May 22, 1948 in Bolivar, she was the daughter of Dr. James Fisher and Romaine Ryan Hoffman. Rose Marie attended St. Mary’s Parochial School, and later graduated from Olean High School. She lived the majority of her life in Olean and worked as a certified nurse’s aide for 30 years at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center prior to her retirement. Even outside her career at The Pines, she was always a caregiver and took joy in helping others with managing their lives. She also loved to cook, and she enjoyed knitting. She leaves behind 2 children Jennifer Doty of Olean and Jason Doty of Sierra Vista, AZ; 4 grandchildren Romaine, Annadeatra, Allyson, and Jason, Jr.; 7 siblings James Hoffman of Olean, Charles (Sandy) Hoffman of Security, CO, John Hoffman of Olean, Paul (Sherry) Hoffman of Ridgway, PA, Mary Metz of Orlando, FL, Pat (David) Merriam of Hornell, and Peter (Angela) Hoffman of Argyle, TX, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1-3pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will be held Tuesday (January 31, 2023) at 10am in the funeral home. Deacon Matt Wenke will officiate. Burial will be next to her parents in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
